The Judges Lodging is a an eighteenth Century Mansion House, with a sweeping driveway, sheltered by some of the oldest surviving trees within the City Walls. Should you decide to walk beneath the boughs of these great trees, up this short driveway, you may find yourself living for a short time as the great and worthy of the past may have done, The Judges Lodging, as the name suggests, was acquired by the City of York to keep the Travelling Judges of the Assizes Court in the manner to which they had become accustomed.
