Northern Territory

From the dry and dusty south to the humid tropical north, for many NT is what Australia is about. The tough, uncompromising landscape and distance from the major cities of the south (Melbourne is over 3000km away, greater than the distance between London and Beirut) add up to give an untamed air to a place that many find hard to resist.

Host to about 1% of the population but covering 20% of the land mass this is where you will find the great, iconic natural landmark of Ayers Rock. A deeply spiritual place for the indigenous population Ayers Rock is just one of many sites that echo the aboriginal past of the area. The rock art is just one of the reasons for visiting the stunning Kakadu National Park. Kakadu is adjacent to Arnhamland a vast area that is largely out of bounds to eager tourists.

To get into the bush and experience real wild Australia, of for a real insight into Aboriginal life past and present then the Northern Territory is the place.
